What you need before you start

Having everything in front of you makes the viva loan application faster and cuts down on errors. Gather these items first:

  • Your legal name and current home address (no P.O. boxes for most lenders)
  • Date of birth, showing you are at least 18 or the age of majority in your state
  • Social Security number, which lenders usually request for identity and credit checks
  • A valid email address you check daily and a mobile phone number
  • Your income source, pay frequency, and next pay date (a recent pay stub helps)
  • Bank routing and account number for an active checking account in your own name
  • A rough monthly budget, so you know what payment you can actually afford

Not sure you qualify? Check the loan requirements first. It takes two minutes and can save you a wasted request.

Employment or income sourceShows you have regular money coming in to repay
Pay frequency and next pay dateLets lenders line up due dates with your paydays

Tips to fill it out accurately

Small mistakes cause many unmatched requests. A few habits help:

  1. Match your bank records. Use your name exactly as it appears on your bank account and ID. A missing middle initial is fine; a nickname may not be.
  2. Enter gross monthly income honestly. Use your income before taxes, unless the form asks for take-home pay. Inflating it can lead to a loan you can’t repay, and lenders often verify it.
  3. Double-check digits. One wrong number in your routing number, account number, or SSN can stop a request cold.
  4. Use your real mobile number. Lenders often text a verification code or call to confirm details.
  5. Pick the right pay frequency. Weekly, every two weeks, twice a month, and monthly are different, and the lender uses this to set your due dates.
  6. Ask for what you need. A smaller request is often easier to match and cheaper to repay.
Tip: if you share a bank account, make sure your name is on it. Most lenders require a checking account in the borrower’s own name.

After you submit

Your request goes to lenders and lending partners in our network. Each lender reviews it under its own rules. Many begin with a soft inquiry, which doesn’t affect your credit score; a lender may do a hard inquiry before final approval.

You’ll usually see a result within minutes. If a lender can make an offer, you may be sent to its website to review terms. You might also get an email, a call, or a text from a lender asking to confirm details.

Before you sign, the lender must give you its Truth in Lending disclosure showing the APR, finance charge, and total of payments. Personal installment lenders in our network commonly disclose APRs between 5.99% and 35.99%. Short-term and small-dollar lenders can charge considerably more where state law permits. The exact APR, fees and repayment schedule are disclosed by the lender before you sign.

If you accept and are approved, funds may arrive as soon as the next business day. See how it works for the full sequence, or rates and terms to compare offers.

Common reasons a request isn’t matched

Not getting an offer doesn’t mean something is wrong with you. Lenders have narrow rules, and these are the usual causes:

  • State availability: no lender in the network currently serves your state, or state law limits the product.
  • Income below a lender’s minimum, or income that can’t be verified.
  • Information that doesn’t match public or bank records.
  • No active checking account in your name, or a recently opened one.
  • High existing debt compared with income.
  • Recent missed payments, bankruptcy, or many recent loan requests.
  • Requested amount too high for your income or for your state’s rules.

If you aren’t matched, consider a payday alternative loan (PAL) from a federal credit union, a payment plan with the company you owe, an employer pay advance, or free help from a nonprofit credit counselor.

At the bottom of the form you’ll see consent language. Here is what it means.

Sharing your request

By submitting, you agree that VivaLoanApp may share your information with lenders and lending partners in our network so they can review your request and, if they choose, make an offer. Lenders may check your credit. Our privacy policy explains what we collect and your choices.

Calls and texts (TCPA)

The Telephone Consumer Protection Act requires your consent before companies send certain automated calls or marketing texts. If the form includes a phone consent box, it explains who may contact you and how. Consent to marketing calls or texts is not a condition of getting a loan. You can withdraw it any time by replying STOP or asking to be put on a do-not-call list.

Electronic records (E-SIGN)

The E-SIGN Act lets companies give you disclosures and let you sign agreements electronically once you agree. You have the right to request paper copies and to withdraw consent, though a lender may not be able to complete an online loan without it.

Stay safe while you apply

Loan scams often copy the look of real lenders, especially around brand names people search for. Use this quick checklist every time you apply anywhere online:

  • Confirm the address bar starts with https and shows the site you meant to visit.
  • Never pay an upfront “processing,” “insurance,” or “approval” fee before receiving a loan. Legitimate lenders take any origination fee out of the loan or add it to the balance, and they disclose it first.
  • Never pay with gift cards, wire transfers, or cryptocurrency to get a loan released.
  • Don’t share your online banking password. Lenders need account and routing numbers, not your login.
  • Be wary of anyone who pressures you to sign today or skip reading the agreement.

If something feels off, stop and report it to the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov or to the CFPB at consumerfinance.gov/complaint.
