What Are Viva Loans and How Do They Work?

“Viva loans” can point to three different companies with different models. Here is what each one does, what borrowing costs, and how an independent loan request works.

  • Three Viva names, explained
  • Real cost math, no hype
  • Free request for $100–$5,000
Quick answer

“Viva loans” usually refers to one of three unrelated companies: VIVA Finance, an employer-based installment lender; Viva Payday Loans, a loan-matching broker; or Vivaloan, an online loan marketplace. Each works differently. VivaLoanApp is a separate, independent service that shares one free $100–$5,000 request with lenders in its network.

Three different companies share the “Viva” name

When you search for “viva loans,” you are likely to find three separate businesses. They are not branches of one company, and they do not share a parent. Knowing which one you are looking at is the first step to choosing well.

VivaLoanApp is not affiliated with VIVA Finance, Inc., Viva Payday Loans (vivapaydayloans.com) or Vivaloan (vivaloan.com). We describe them below using public information as of 2026 so you can compare.

1. VIVA Finance, Inc.

VIVA Finance is an Atlanta, Georgia fintech founded in 2019. According to its website, it is a direct lender, with loans originated by Thread Bank (Member FDIC), DR Bank (Member FDIC) or VIVA Finance Inc. Its personal installment loans are underwritten mainly on your employment, and payments are often made through payroll deduction set up with your employer.

Its site lists loans up to $15,000 (earlier coverage mentioned up to $10,000), APRs of 11.99% to 35.99% including fees, and terms up to 36 months. The catch: you need to work for an eligible employer. It is not currently available to active military members or their dependents, and it is not offered in every state.

2. Viva Payday Loans

Viva Payday Loans (vivapaydayloans.com) is a loan-matching or broker site, not a direct lender. Financer lists its operator as Payday Ventures Limited of London. The site advertises $100 to $5,000, terms of 2 to 24 months and APRs of roughly 5.99% to 35.99%. An unrelated Australian website uses a similar address ending in .com.au.

3. Vivaloan

Vivaloan (vivaloan.com) is an online personal loan marketplace. It advertises amounts from $100 to $15,000 and is reported as unavailable in New York, West Virginia and Washington, D.C. Like the broker above, it does not lend money itself.

Three companies share the “Viva” name, and VivaLoanApp is a fourth, independent option. Only VIVA Finance lends directly; the others pass your request to lenders.

How a Viva-style loan request works, step by step

Two of the three Viva names, and VivaLoanApp itself, work as request or matching services. A direct lender like VIVA Finance follows a similar flow but keeps the decision in-house. Here is the general path from form to funds.

  1. You fill out one form. You enter the amount you want, your contact details, income, employment and bank information. Most forms take a few minutes.
  2. Your request is shared. A matching service passes your details to lenders or lending partners in its network. A direct lender reviews it itself.
  3. A lender reviews it. Many lenders start with a soft inquiry, which does not affect your credit score. A lender may run a hard inquiry before final approval.
  4. You see an offer, or you don’t. If a lender is interested, it shows you the amount, APR, fees and repayment schedule. That disclosure is required under the Truth in Lending Act (TILA).
  5. You decide. You can accept or walk away. Nothing is final until you sign the lender’s agreement, often electronically under the E-SIGN Act.
  6. Funds are deposited. If you accept, money may arrive as soon as the next business day, depending on the lender and your bank. Timing is never guaranteed.

The key point: the company you submit to is not always the company you borrow from. Always read whose name is on the loan agreement. Our how it works page walks through this in more detail.

What Viva loans cost: APR, fees and real numbers

The cost of any loan comes down to three things: the APR, the length of the term and any fees. APR, or annual percentage rate, rolls interest and certain fees into one yearly figure so you can compare offers fairly.

Personal installment lenders in our network commonly disclose APRs between 5.99% and 35.99%. Short-term and small-dollar lenders can charge considerably more where state law permits. The exact APR, fees and repayment schedule are disclosed by the lender before you sign.

Representative example

$2,000 borrowed for 12 months at 29.22% APR = 12 monthly payments of about $194.21; total repaid about $2,330.49; total interest about $330.49. This is an example only, not an offer.

How the term changes the total

LoanAPRTermMonthly paymentTotal interest
$2,00029.22%6 monthsabout $362.31about $173.87
$2,00029.22%12 monthsabout $194.21about $330.49
$2,00029.22%24 monthsabout $111.02about $664.58

A longer term lowers the monthly payment but roughly doubles the interest in this example. Pick the shortest term you can repay comfortably. See rates and terms for more examples.

Watch for: origination fees taken out of the loan before you receive it, late fees, returned-payment fees and automatic renewals. Ask the lender to show the total of payments in dollars, not just the APR.

Which “Viva” option fits you?

Answer three questions and we’ll point you to the option that fits your situation — including ones that aren’t us.

1. Does your employer partner with VIVA Finance?
2. Are you on active military duty, or a dependent of someone who is?
3. How much do you need?

Who each type of Viva loan tends to suit

No single option is right for everyone. Your job, your credit and how fast you need money all matter. Use this rough guide.

  • You work for a company that partners with VIVA Finance. An employment-based loan with payroll deduction may be worth checking first, since its listed APR range starts at 11.99%. Ask your HR or benefits team whether your employer is eligible.
  • You need $100 to $5,000 and want to see several lenders at once. A matching service such as Viva Payday Loans, Vivaloan or VivaLoanApp lets you submit one request instead of many applications.
  • You need more than $5,000. VIVA Finance and Vivaloan both list higher maximums. Banks and credit unions are also worth checking for larger amounts.
  • Your credit is fair or poor. Bad credit is considered by some lenders, but approval is never guaranteed. Expect higher APRs and compare carefully. Our bad credit guide covers this.

Whichever route you take, borrow only what solves the problem. A $600 car repair does not need a $2,000 loan.

Typical requirements before you request

Each lender sets its own rules, but most ask for the same basics. Having them ready speeds things up.

  • Age 18 or older (or the age of majority in your state)
  • U.S. residency in a state where the lender operates
  • A regular source of income, such as a job, benefits or self-employment
  • An active checking account in your own name
  • A valid email address and phone number
  • Your Social Security number, which lenders usually request for identity and credit checks

VIVA Finance adds one requirement the others do not: an eligible employer. Matching services generally look at income from any steady source. Lenders may also ask for a recent pay stub or bank statement to confirm income.

Active-duty servicemembers and their dependents covered by the Military Lending Act are protected by a 36% Military Annual Percentage Rate cap. Lenders that work with covered borrowers must follow it.

Alternatives worth checking first

A loan is not always the cheapest fix. Before you request one, spend ten minutes on these options.

  • Credit union Payday Alternative Loans (PALs). Federal credit unions can offer small loans with APRs capped well below typical short-term loans. You usually need to be a member.
  • Employer pay advances. Some employers offer advances on wages you have already earned, sometimes at low or no cost. Ask payroll.
  • Payment plans. Utility companies, hospitals and many landlords will set up a payment plan if you call before the bill is late.
  • Nonprofit credit counseling. A certified counselor can review your budget and debts for free or at low cost and may suggest a debt management plan.
  • Local assistance. Dialing 211 connects you to local programs for rent, utilities and food help in many areas.

If none of these cover the gap, a loan may still make sense. Just go in with a clear repayment plan.

How VivaLoanApp’s independent loan request works

VivaLoanApp is an independent online loan-request service. We are not a lender, we do not make credit decisions and we do not set rates or terms. Using our service costs you $0.

You submit one request for $100 to $5,000. We share it with third-party lenders and lending partners in our network, who may make you an offer. The lender decides the actual amount. Terms commonly run 2 to 24 months for installment offers, and some short-term offers are repaid in one payment.

What to expect

  • A short online form that takes a few minutes
  • A fast decision from many lenders, often starting with a soft inquiry
  • The lender’s full APR, fees and schedule before you sign
  • No obligation to accept any offer
  • Funds as soon as the next business day if you are approved and accept

Our service is not available in every state, and lenders follow the laws of the state where you live. Ready to see what is available? Start your free request.

How to protect yourself with any Viva loan

Because several sites use similar names, a little caution goes a long way. These checks take minutes and can save you real money.

  • Check the address bar. VIVA Finance’s own website, vivapaydayloans.com, vivaloan.com and vivaloanapp.com are four different sites, and the Australian .com.au address is a fifth. Make sure you are on the one you mean.
  • Never pay upfront. Legitimate lenders take fees from the loan or the repayment, not before funding. An upfront “insurance” or “processing” fee is a red flag the FTC warns about.
  • Read the lender’s name. The loan agreement should name the actual lender and show the APR, finance charge and total of payments.
  • Know your rights. You can file complaints with the CFPB or your state regulator. Federal rules like the TCPA limit unwanted calls and texts.
